CVI42 Auto is the next generation cardiac software by Circle Cardiovascular Imaging. We had set out a few goals for this:
The first step was to analyse the current layouts and flow of the modules. I wanted to understand why the initial layouts where that way, and see where we could make gains. I also wanted to impliment and evolution to the software where we start to merge modules together and eventually get one screen with all the information you need on it.
Since the user flow was mostly on editing the contours or circles in the heart, the plan was to make that as easy as possible and beable to publish and view the report as easily as possible. The layout design would but divided into two sections, one for viewers and one for the data. The data would be structured and stay in the same locations throughout the modules.
The report was also a large focus and I wanted it not feel like another module but something that constantly updated in the background and you could see it in a instant to review findings or add new ones. I also focused on the layout and how the information was presented.
As I was developing the flow I was also working on the stylization, and one of the biggest thing you will notice is the application has a lot of color on it. In general most of the medical applciations are grey and one thing we wanted was when doctors were using screenshots in thier presentations and papers we wanted to standout and have people recognize that it was Circle software. So we did some studies and came up with the current color scheme for the software.
